At Karl’s Plumbing Heating & Cooling our highly trained team of licensed master plumbers provide expert boiler service and NYC annual boiler inspections for both preventative purposes as well as to comply with local laws. We’ve been servicing and inspecting boilers since 1935 and have not only seen it all but bring our decades of experience to each job.
Annual Boiler Inspections
Karl’s Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling will send out an expert to visually inspect your boiler as part of the routine boiler service inspection. If something is amiss, the technician will diagnose the problem and recommend a repair or replacement of parts. Each inspection includes cleaning of internal parts of the boiler to make sure that everything is in working order to prevent damage and destruction. Our inspections are done according to New York City Code as well as applicable inspections required by other areas. Being in compliance is very important and can result in NYC DOB violations and fines if not done in a timely fashion.
Violation Removals
If you’ve missed your NYC annual boiler inspection and need to address an NYC DOB violation, trust Karl’s Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling to remove the violation from your commercial property. Violations such as LBLVIO for low-pressure boilers and HBLVIO for high-pressure boilers (formerly known as LL 62/91) carry a civil penalty of $1,000 per boiler per year.
The following boilers require annual inspections and reports filed with the DOB: Low-pressure boilers in residential buildings housing six or more families, low-pressure boilers in mixed-use buildings, low-pressure boilers in commercial buildings, high-pressure boilers, H-stamp domestic hot water heaters with over 350,000 BTUs in residential, mixed-use, and commercial buildings, and E-stamped boilers.
You can visit NYC Department of Buildings website to learn more about the various boiler compliance requirements in NYC. You may also see our blog post for more details regarding annual boiler inspections.
